Affiliate disclosure

IfTheRingFits is free to use and carries no advertising. It is intended to be funded by affiliate commissions, and this page explains exactly what that means for you.

Last updated 26 August 2026.

As of the date above, there are no affiliate links anywhere on this site. Nothing here earns a commission. When that changes, every such link will be marked where it appears, and this page will be updated to name the retailers involved.

There are ordinary links out to retailers, under “Where to buy this size”. They are not affiliate links and they pay nothing. See below.

Outbound links

Once the tool has told you what size stone you want, it offers links to a few retailers who sell that shape. Three things are true of them today:

The order they appear in is fixed and has nothing to do with money, because there is no money. If that ever changes, this section changes with it in the same deploy.

What an affiliate link is

If the site later recommends a diamond or a setting and you follow that link to a retailer and buy something, the retailer may pay this site a commission. The price you pay is exactly the same either way. A commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not out of your pocket, and following a link never obliges you to buy anything.

How links will be marked

Disclosure will appear immediately alongside the recommendations themselves — not hidden in a footer, and not on a page you would have to go looking for. If a set of results can earn this site money, it will say so where you are looking at it.

What decides what gets recommended

This is the part worth reading. The site exists to answer one question that others do not: whether a particular stone physically fits a particular setting. Recommendations are filtered by that geometry first — a stone whose girdle is wider than your setting's seat is excluded, regardless of who sells it or what it pays.

That is a measurement, not an opinion, and it is not for sale. No retailer can pay to be shown, to rank higher, or to bypass the fit calculation.

Where the site can check a listing's stated carat weight against its stated dimensions, it will flag ones that disagree — even when the listing is one it would earn from.

What this site is not

Your privacy is unaffected

Affiliate links do not change how your data is handled. Your photo is processed in your browser and never uploaded, and nothing about your hand, your ring size or your calibration is sent anywhere. See the privacy page for the detail.
